– The study period for the master’s degree program is no more than 6 academic years.

– The study period for the doctoral degree program is no more than 9 academic years.

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council; and

2.

They must be a teacher or personnel responsible for educational management, training as well as
disseminating knowledge.

Remark:

1)

Those qualified in item 1-2 but having a GPA of less than 2.30, may be allowed by the Graduate Board and
the University.

2)

Those qualified from item 1-2 must not have diseases that interfere with the studies and must not be retired from university or higher education institutions because of their misconduct.

Master's Degree Programs Information

Master of Education Program in Curriculum and Instruction

Name of the Degree

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the field of educational studies or education from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council;

2.

They must have a GPA not below 2.50;

3.

They must be a teacher or regular educational personnel responsible for teaching duty, training, disseminating knowledge, providing guidance or educational services; and

4.

They must have work experience of at least one year in the field related to curriculum and instruction; or

5.

They must be allowed to enroll by the Academic Senate’s consideration with no affect on maintaining the graduate standards.

Remark:

1)

Those qualified in item 1, 3-4 but having a GPA of less than 2.50, may be allowed by the University to enroll in a probation program.

2)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1 and 5 above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from university suspended due to bad behavior.

Master of Education Program in Educational Administration

Applicant Qualifications

                 They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or a graduate diploma required by the program with other additional qualifications required by the School Graduate Board and the University.

Remark:

Those who do not have educational qualifications must take one more subject: 23727 Development of Learning Systems Management.

Master of Education Program in Educational Measurement and Evaluation

Name of the Degree

Master of Education (Educational Measurement and Evaluation)

Degree abbreviation:

M.Ed. (Educational Measurement and Evaluation)

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or a graduate diploma required by the program with other additional qualifications required by the School Graduate Board and the University.

2.

They must be a teacher, instructor or permanent educational personnel responsible for Educational Measurement
or Evaluation, other duties that require educational measurement or assessment or as a result of passing the examination or certification of knowledge and standards competencies in the measurement and evaluation of undergraduate studies; and

3.

They must be passed the knowledge test and competency in the measurement and evaluation of undergraduate education as determined by the university.

Master of Education Program in Guidance and Psychological Counseling

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council;

2.

They must have a GPA not below 2.30;

3.

They must be a teacher, instructor or permanent educational personnel responsible for teaching duty, training to disseminate knowledge, providing guidance or educational services or responsible for personnel development; or

4.

They must be personnel in the public or private sector with work experience at least one year after graduation with a bachelor’s degree.

Remark:

1)

Those qualified in item 1, 3-4 but having a GPA of less than 2.30, may be allowed by the Graduate Board and
the University.

2)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1-4 above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from university suspended due to bad behavior.
If a student was once suspended for bad behavior but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to be pardoned, he or she may request to be reinstated upon the approval of the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from the date of suspension.

Master of Education Program in Nonformal and Informal Education

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council;

2.

They must be an individual responsible for education or other activities that require educational knowledge,
promotion or community development, training or others with related experience of at least 2 years; and

3.

They must have a GPA not below 2.30. if having a grade point average less than 2.30 may be considered
if they have the academic work according to the university requirements;

Master of Education Program in Educational Technology and Communications

Name of the Degree

Master of Education (Educational Technology and Communications)

Degree abbreviation:

M.Ed. (Educational Technology and Communications)

Applicant Qualifications

1.

They must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other universities or higher education institutions recognized by University Council;

2.

They must be an individual responsible for education or other activities that require educational knowledge, promotion or community development, training; or

3.

They must be an individual for public sector orgazisation or private sector, and others with related experience of
at least 1 year;

4.

They must have a GPA not below 2.30; or

5.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University Academic Council as a suitable applicant for
the graduate program.

Remark:

Those who graduate from other fields of studies may be admitted to the program. The University may require them
to study additional courses namely by the School’s Graduate Studies Committee and the University Committee.

Master of Education Program in Science Education Name of the Degree

Applicant Qualifications

Applicants for the probram must have the following qualifications:

Group I

1.

A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education or teaching from a university or institution of higher learning approved by the University Council;

2.

An undergraduate grade point average of no less than 2.50 from 4.00 grading system or the equivalent;

3.

Employed as a teacher or educational staff with responsibility for teaching, training, educating, advising,
or providing educational services;

4.

Having previously studiied at least 68 credits in science-related courses; and

5.

At least on year’s work experience in curriculum and instruction related work; or

6.

Approved by the Academic Council as a suitable candidate who would be able to maintain the standards of
the Graduate School.

Remark:

1)

Those who meet qualifications 1, 3-4, and 5 but earned a GPA below 2.50 may be admitted to study
on a probationary basis.

2)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1-6 above must also not have any disease that would be an obstacle to their completion of the program and must never have had their student status revoked due to bad behavior, but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to be pardoned, he or she may request to be reinstated upon the approval of the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from
the date of suspension.

Group II

1.

A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in science from a university or institution of higher learning approved by
the University Council;
 and

2.

An undergraduate grade point average of no less than 2.50 from 4.00 grading system or the equivalent; or

3.

Approved by the Academic Council as a suitable candidate who would be able to maintain the standards of
the Graduate School.

Remark:

1)

Those who meet qualifications 1 but earned a GPA below 2.50 may be admitted to study on a probationary basis.

They must have completed a master’s degree or its equivalent curriculum and instruction or possess other qualifications required by the University;

2.

They must have a GPA not below 3.25 from 4.00 grading system;

3.

They must have worked in the field relevant to curriculum and instruction;

4.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University;

5.

They must have work achievement and a research project suitable for the curriculum and instruction science;

6.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University Academic Council as a suitable applicant for
the graduate program.

Remark:

1)

Those who graduate from other fields the university may require them to study additional courses namely course 22745 Semimar in Curriculim and Instruction (no credit).

2)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1-6 above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance
to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from university suspended due to bad behavior. If a student was once suspended for bad behavior but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to be pardoned, he or she may request to be reinstated upon the approval of
the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from the date of suspension.

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Educational Administration

Plan 1.1

1.

They must have completed a master’s degree in educational administration or its equivalent with grade point average
not less than 3.50 from 4.00 grading system;

2.

They must have work experience or outstanding achievement suitable for science related to educational administration;

3.

They must have completed a master thesis and research experience with excellent quality of research results. However, this must not be a part of their study to get a degree;

4.

They must have an appropriate research project for the educational administration science with a clarified plan to practically apply knowledge acquired from the studied program after graduation.

5.

They must have work achievement and a research project suitable for the curriculum and instruction science;

6.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University;

Remark:

Those having qualifications specified who have GPA lower than 3.50 from 4.00 grading system may be admitted to the program as specified by the University.

Plan 2.1

1.

They must have completed a master’s degree or its equivalent with grade point average not less than 3.25 from 4.00 grading system or Higher Graduate Certificate;

2.

They must have worked in the field relevant to educational administration;

3.

They must have work achievement and a research project suitable for the educational administration science with a clarified plan to practically apply knowledge acquired from the studied program after graduation.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University;

Remark:

Those having qualifications specified who have GPA lower than 3.25 from 4.00 grading system may be admitted to the program as specified by the University.

Evaluation science.

Remark:

1)

Those who graduate master’s degree from other fields must be assessed on basic competency in educational measurement and evaluation as required by the university.

2)

Those who graduate from other fields the university may require them to study additional courses namely course 24732 Theories of Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Program Evaluation (no credit).

3)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1-4 above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from university suspended due to bad behavior.
